| • 67-69 Lower Closeout Panel This Lower Closeout Panel keeps the hot air at the backside of the radiator from re-circulating under the core support to the front of the radiator. It also makes the spoiler work better by sealing the high pressure air in front of the radiator and not allowing it to drop into the low pressure area created in back of the spoiler. In addition it reduces the amount of dust stirred up while driving thru parking lots at slow speeds and therefore keeps the engine compartment cleaner. The GM® factory engineers thought it was a good idea to seal off this area on the a/c cars. It was plastic and hardly survived a year or two. More complicated to install, it didn't cover the space directly behind the spoiler.
This is a lower closeout panel for a 69 Camaro. These panels use the mounting points for your spoiler and 2 additional holes drilled in the crossmember. Mounting bolts and a cobalt drill bit are included in this kit.
69 Camaro Lower Closeout Kit Price: $150
The secondary strip riveted on the main body of the panel seals against the core support effectively sealing off re-circulating hot air.
This is a lower closeout panel for 67 and 68 Camaros. It mounts in the same way as the 69 Camaro panel.
67-68 Camaro Lower Closeout Kit Price: $150
This is how it looks installed. Unless you use a mirror it's unseen. • |
